Massage

Remedial and Deep Tissue

This ancient art should be on everyone’s agenda as a regular mind, body and spirit treat. It is the systematic manipulation of soft tissues, performed with the hands for a therapeutic effect on various body systems.

Massage achieves a balance between relaxation and energy; it is particularly good for reducing the effects of stress and tension. The aim of the therapy is to restore muscle tone and suppleness from tension, increase joint mobility and flexibility, improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow, brings the nervous system into equilibrium, boosts the immune system, transports nutrients to cells, increases metabolism, clears blockages, and aids in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products.

The massage treatment is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and concerns of each client presenting on the day of treatment.

The massage is based on traditional and modern techniques consisting of petrassage , effleurage, and kneading strokes, trigger point release, neuromuscular technique (NMT), soft tissue release (STR), and muscle energy technique (MET).

The therapist often will combine massage and acupuncture depending on the presenting condition.

Massage is one of the oldest, simplest, and most rewarding of all therapies.
